Abstract

Limited conceptual understanding and practical skills in chemistry laboratory activities, particularly in acid–base titration and buffer solutions, remain a challenge for senior high school students. This community service activity aimed to strengthen chemistry practicum learning through the development and implementation of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media. The AR media were developed using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The activity involved eleventh-grade science students from SMA Negeri 4 Denpasar and SMA Dwijendra Denpasar. Media validation was conducted through alpha testing by subject matter experts and media experts, while implementation was evaluated through beta testing involving 35 students. Data were collected using questionnaires assessing content quality, learning quality, and technical quality of the media. The validation results indicated that the AR media were categorized as very good and feasible for use. Beta test results showed an improvement from good to very good criteria, with an average percentage of 83.52%. The AR media facilitated students’ understanding of practicum procedures through interactive and visual representations, and increased learning motivation and engagement. Therefore, AR-based chemistry practicum media are effective as an educational innovation in community service activities to support the improvement of chemistry learning quality in senior high schools.
